Diagnostic Pain Center and Texas Herb Clinic Revolutionize Access to the Texas Compassionate Use Program

In a groundbreaking partnership, Diagnostic Pain Center (DPC) and Texas Herb Clinic (THC) are thrilled to announce a new statewide telemedicine service that will offer Texans unprecedented access to medical cannabis through the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP). This collaboration aims to revolutionize the process for patients seeking alternative treatments for various qualifying conditions. Beyond just medical cannabis, this collaboration brings diagnostic pain management doctors to devices throughout the state providing a thorough evaluation and workup for those looking for further recommendations and treatment options.

A New Era in Healthcare

“DPC and THC are joining forces to bring a new level of convenience and accessibility to medical cannabis via the Texas Compassionate Use Program,” says Dr. Robert Marks, MD, Founder and President. “By leveraging the power of telemedicine, we’re making it easier than ever for Texans to get the diagnosis and treatment they need, all from the comfort of their homes. And since we now provide full healthcare services, we are setting a new standard of care by accepting health insurance and offering our patients a full array of diagnostic and treatment options. It’s a true win-win.”

How It Works

Patients start by scheduling an appointment to discuss their healthcare needs, which can be via telemedicine or in-person. “We specialize in diagnosing and treating conditions related to all types of pain, including many qualifying conditions such as muscle spasms and neuropathy – and we can register patients into the TCUP program if they qualify,” says Dr. Marks. “We provide a thorough face-to-face medical evaluation of the patient’s painful condition, explain what we suspect is happening, and we offer additional diagnostic and treatment options such as ordering imaging, medications, referrals to physical therapy & specialists – even interventional pain management procedures for people who want to visit us in Austin.” For those who already have a qualifying diagnosis and strictly want to get registered for the TCUP program, Dr. Marks says, “they can still choose to schedule via the classic THC Rapid Registration pathway where we verify the diagnosis, facilitate registration and provide education & dosing assistance via a streamlined approach.”

Insurance and Additional Services

One of the partnership’s standout features is that Diagnostic Pain Center accepts health insurance for consultations and offers many additional services in addition to TCUP registration for qualifying patients. By providing a comprehensive healthcare solution, it is the choice for people who want to figure out why they hurt and learn of their options, without limitation to just medical cannabis. Patients may choose to come in person or from the comfort of their home via Telemedicine.
An alternative option, the THC Rapid Registration Pathway was created strictly to register pre-qualified patients into the Texas Compassionate Use Program and facilitate the technical roles associated with the TCUP program including patient verification and education. Patients can enter the program more quickly and with less paperwork, but they will not receive all the benefits of being full patients. The THC Rapid Registration option is not covered by health insurance.

The Future is Bright

“This partnership is just the beginning,” adds Dr. Marks. “We’re committed to continually expanding our services to meet the evolving needs of our patients and to make alternative treatments more accessible to all Texans.”
